From the very beginning, D'licious Gourmet Hampers has been a cherished family business, lovingly started by Irene and Ray, a couple whose passion for quality and community shines through in every hamper. Known as "The Pioneers" of gourmet gift hampers on the Sunshine Coast, Irene shared with us how it all began.

With a wistful look in her eyes, Irene reflected on the journey that led to their success. “Ray and I have always enjoyed eating locally grown and made condiments and other gourmet items. We used to buy these any time we went to a local market, such as the Eumundi Markets or the Noosa Farmers’ Market. The quality was always excellent, and we liked the idea of supporting small local Sunshine Coast producers rather than the large supermarket chains.

Around 2010, I was putting together a gift box of local Sunshine Coast ‘treats’ as a present for my mother-in-law living in Melbourne. The hamper looked as good as it tasted, and she loved it! As I was putting it all together, I wondered if anyone was selling hampers that exclusively used regional Sunshine Coast products. I managed to find some regional food hamper companies for some of the ‘foodie’ destinations around Australia, but none for the Sunshine Coast. I knew I was onto something.

The quality of our local produce was on a par with the best in Australia. Armed with a lot of enthusiasm and confidence in our product, I approached many businesses both large and small, asking if such a product would be something they would be interested in using as a corporate gift. The positive feedback I received encouraged us to ‘dive in’. From humble beginnings in a spare room, we surely and steadily built the business year by year. Over the years we developed long term relationships with many of our suppliers and customers and were always proud of what we were selling and the fact that we were supporting local farmers and producers.

As our family commitments increased, we knew it was time to pass the business onto new owners. This was not an easy decision. Glad that we met you guys (Viren & Sangeeta). Thinking alike, we noticed that you both greatly care about the quality of the product, keenness to offer exceptional customer service and are committed to continue promoting the gourmet fares of our beautiful Sunshine Coast region.  After meeting you both, we knew we could confidently hand over the reins, who will continue to retain this businesses originality. I am certain that if anyone considers ordering a hamper from you both, you will exceed their expectations.”

Touched by her kind words, we are thrilled to continue the legacy Irene and Ray began. As longtime residents of Brisbane with a passion for the Sunshine Coast's natural beauty, lifestyle, and incredible local produce, we took over D'licious Gourmet Hampers in 2018, determined to carry forward its tradition of excellence.
